How to thinking for paph. lawrenceanum Tradition orchid?
Answers: This Paphiopedilum - I'm jealous - benefits from a really good watering respectively time, as well as not too frequently. This and many other orchids normally rot through over-watering, so allow to dry a little, before soaking again. I use fresh rainfall water, as this doesn't contain the chemicals in slap water.
Fertilise from 1 in 4 waterings, upto a maximum of every other watering, beside a 1/4 strength Orchid fertiliser. If your plant seems to grow strongly and be healthy, this could be increased to partially strength - as much as we want our plants to grow faster, it is so important for them to grow strongly and not just at speed.
Keep your plant surrounded by good levels of indirect oil lamp, and I've found it better to start with a safe plane of lighting, adjusting slowly with increases to this, when I know that my plants can tolerate it and benefit from it. Don't permit them get scorched beside direct harsh sunlight. Paphiopedilums benefit from light anyone adjusted gradually, as it would by instinctive seasonal changes.
Your plant will benefit from 12 to 14 hours of light respectively day. This is easier naturally during summer time, but you can supplement sunlight near artificial lighting - entirely optional - during other periods of the year, Flourescent lighting is the safest artificial street light, as this is less likely to burn your plant and stress it.
Generally aim to keep temperatures within the 60's to 80's.
Hope this quick introduction helps. Good luck! Rob
