those that comes like 100+ contained by a packet, you plant some and still got 90 departed. how should i store them? eg. keep it airtight, freeze it, hold it in the unproved packaging etc. also, how long can it be kept?
save the original collection and put seeds and bag in a zip-lock daypack or keep within original bundle fold over top and put a paper clip on it place within a file card box

I keep mine as dry and cool as I can. Putting them surrounded by the fridge can cause condensation to form, as okay as some water to be lost out of the core itself, so I avoid this. I can them airtight too, as well as surrounded by as dark a place as I can provide. Seeds from the Egyptian pyramids, where on earth it was muddy, and dry etc, have germinate after thousands of years - not that I've lived to test mine this long.

Overall, core life does diminish beside age, so it's wise not to hang on to them for too long, unless you expect just a dwindling proportion of them to germinate. Another choice is to add some of those little stacks with dessicant surrounded by, that you find in electrical products boxes when sold, these will remove some of the moisture from around the seed, and I've used these ok.

Hope this helps. Good luck! Rob
Answers:    Hi:
Both of the answers are correct. I am a landscaper and designer and also enjoy had a greenhouse. I hold germinated over thousands of seed. I would buy the seeds contained by bulk from a wholesaler.

The germination rate of a seed does turn down after a few years. For storing, put them in a foggy and cool location. Any seeds should be stored similar to this.

I have used flower, vegetable and herb seed for up to two to three years. After that, the germination rate will go down. If you own a lot of moved out over seeds and can't use them up within two to three years, maybe share your seed with others. I hope this help some. I will link you to the spices and herb paragraph of my website. There is a page on growing herbs from seed, which you might find interesting. Good luck with your seed and have a great year!
