How to rid my property of carpenter ants?
Do an internet search on carpenter ants. It say if you have wood inwardly 100 yards you will enjoy a few. Try to get rid of watery areas, so they won't be attracted. They really don't do much damage, but inhabit areas already tattered. Do Not bathe yourself surrounded by spray to kill a few.
Exterminate, Repair, Prevent!!
Call a reputable Exterminator to first identify them, and of course treat them. Also might be worth signing up for a bi-annual spraying...or if you're competent to, spray by yourself and leave bait traps year round. (note that exterminators habitually have DOE chemicals that are much stronger/greater duration than what we can purchase past its sell-by date the shelf)
As mentioned, there wishes to be a good food source, so an added inspection for water devastate or wood rot is a good give the name. Repair (and pre treat) anything that is destabilized by existing colonies.)
Answers: 1) Get a good exterminator NOW. Due to the amount of destruction they incentive, don't try to do a home remedy. Let the professionals do it right.
2) By the time you see them, they've probably already started attacking your home. The exterminator should be able to enlighten if there's damage and refer you to a contractor to repair the problems.
We have an exterminator come out 2 days after we saw them. 2-3 days after that, we had the repair work done. One porthole had to enjoy its enclosure and the wood around it completely rebuild.
