Answers:    First, you should ask yourself, what are they digging for? Probably grubs. Kill the grubs and the racoons will move on. If they are consistently digging surrounded by one spot, then you can get hold of some chicken wire or hardware cloth and purely put it over that spot to keep them from human being able to verbs. You can also get some fox or coyote urine which will form them think nearby is a predator nearby. You can find the latter on smudge or at a supply store such as Agway.
