I enjoy some that I grow year round in my garden. I started by putting a stalk long-way surrounded by a row and covered it up with soil. it doesn't event what time of year. I found that it sprouts at every joint and will multiply pretty nippy. the first year it was not too sweet but following i found out that I let it acquire so full of flavor that it actually falls over and afterwards I cut it. That's the sweetest for me. I then trim up the remaining stalks and it grows again. Good luck.

Answers: are you living in the tropics? because sugarcane wishes a lot of sunshine & sea!! canes are propergates from the cane itself, as there are plentiful verity of canes, the best type for its liquid are those about 6"-8"(between nodes or sections) give or take a few 2" in diameter fully grown roughly speaking 2-3 meters high, grows very well in loose, loamy, slightly sour soil, if you an buy the whole cane(minus the leaves, more or less 5-6 feet surrounded by length) cut them to about 12"-18"(30 -45 cm) don't cut at the nodes for that's where on earth the new plants will grow! plant them, respectively piece of cane horizontally going on for 6-10" deep, plant the subsequent piece about 18-24" apart. hose down, & wait, you,ll be capable of see the shoots in in the order of 2-4 weeks, depending. once planted, try not to move them because they'll not survive the move, when they're about 1-2 meters(4-6 feet) you can start to strip sour the leaves even though they're still green, starting the ones closest to the ground, wear long sleeves when you're working among the canes for they itches approaching hell, when the tiny hairs get onto your skins, & you perspire, you can harvest them when they're 2-3 meters high-ceilinged or about 12 foot at the tip of the leaves, remember to leave some for the subsequent planting, the sweetest part is nearest to the ground! look out for big ants!! sometimes they bore into the cane, once they're inside the cane should be destroyed, because it bite sour or bitter formic acid from the ants!! moral luck!!
