This past June, I planted a Flowering Pear tree within my back courtyard. Any tips on getting it ready for the behind fall and upcoming winter? Winters here (South Eastern Pennsylvania), tend to gain pretty cold, and I'd hate for my hottest addition not survive due to tactless care.
Answers:    The best item you can do for a young fruit tree is to use tree wrap on it so animals will not devour the tender bark during the cold months when other food is scarce. Be punctilious with mulching fruit trees this can pay for fire and attract mice or moles that will nest in the mulch, drinking the bark and roots.
I enjoy left mine unmulched and did not tree wrap it any as mice have not be a problem in my nouns. I have dogs. I live contained by a very cold winter climate and am chirpy to say my pear tree have had a exceptionally productive summer. It was the third growing season since we planted it. I enjoy pear pies in my freezer to prove it. I grow life too.

Water resourcefully during the dry autumn months and plenty of mulch over the root ball. You do not stipulation to knit a sweater.
