How lots raccoons within an nouns? I have been live trapping for around a week now, and have...

I have been live trapping for around a week now, and have caught and released five raccoons. I transport them going on for three miles away, across the mississippi, and a major highway, thinking that will be enough of a deterrent to hang on to them from coming back.

I just wonder, realistically, how several there might be?
One dark I saw a group of eight walking through my yard. The groups can be quite big, but I own never seen more than that. If you catch and release it is helping you out, but hopefully you're putting them surrounded by a non-residential area. My mom used to live trap the raccoons on her property (40 acres) to keep them out of the bird feeders and she would also drive them in the region of 5 miles away...I think one summer her record be 50+!! So yeah, there are a ton of them out there!

Literally dozens, depending on the amount of trees, sources of fresh water, and sources of junk or natural food for them - they are omnivors so they will eat bird eggs and anything! Now realize that since in attendance is no one to tell them where on earth the nearest Walmart is, when you relocate wildlife, they typically starve within a week. But since Raccoons are a pest and a potential host for rabies (as well as a host for ticks, fleas, and lice) I would recommend you find someone who traps them for food. Food trappers will come and set the traps, afterwards collect them and make sure the animal is not wasted by putting them down and drinking or selling the meat. Raccoon is a good cheap meat source and some folks enjoy it contained by regional dishes no matter where you are living. You can also merely find someone who will charge the least to collect them on a regular basis (because the nearby families will continue to breed until the dimensions of the area is met again, meaning raccoons will hold coming into your area) and do not ask them what they are doing with the critters - if they are inexpensive, they are probably eating them or feed the meat to their pets or taking it to local zoos for the carnivores - because domestic meats are expensive.
If the raccoons are breaking into your house or shed, you will need to exterminate/remove the entire line in order to stop them from trying to break posterior into your home or shed - same with squirrels. Literally tons of them if near a wooded nouns with water and food... Also remember that because of the Mississippi Raiseing out of it's bank and levees breaking, that there will be an influx of wildlife moving further from the river than normal...
