I just planted a bed of roses.16 foot long and 4 feet far-reaching

The soil is pretty fluffy and black (I tilled fown to about 18 inches) and I didn't step surrounded by the bed while planting so the soil isn't compacted.

How long would I have to river (with a standard hose, with a standard "spray gun" attachment on the "shower"/middle setting) surrounded by order to brand name sure that the soil all the style down gets moisture?

Any accepted wisdom?
Answers:    For starters - I hope you firmed the soil a bit when you planted the roses. You don't want air pockets down in that - it will kill the roots.

The best path to water is to place an open-ended hose (no attachment on the end) over the rootball, a few inches from the crown. Turn the hose on to only just a trickle. Then let it run that route for 10-15 minutes per bush. Do that once a week per rose in hot weather, once every two weeks contained by coll weather the first season. Next year - they should not need oblige unless there is a drought.
First and most influential water the soil and not the rose plant. Plants can develop mold on leaves. I enjoy 14 rose bushes of various kind. Some are thirstier than others and some garden beds dry out faster due to sunlight etc. I instinctively water two or three times a week. I put my fingers down contained by the soil near the plants to get the impression the moisture. The surface of the soil can be deceiving. It will appear dry but is OK.
