i recently purchased some potted tulips from trader joe's. i transplanted them into a larger pot in the region of a week ago. they are by a window, but not surrounded by direct light. they receive water three times a week. however, the leaves are turning wan at the ends. the flowers, which are pink, are starting to look purple \around the edges. what am i doing wrong?
Answers: Tulip flowers only finishing a couple weeks. Transplanting something when it's in flower is really stressful - I'd would utter that's part of the problem - if it weren't a tulip - which isn't going to concluding anyway.
You can give it some fertilizer within the water in a minute and then, but really not much marine - let the soil dance a bit dry in between. When the threat of frost pass, you can plant the bulbs directly in the ground. Put some bulb fertilizer surrounded by the hole before you plant - that's really adjectives it will need. It may or may not come up and flower subsequent year. Forced tulips (tulips made to flower early, contained by the winter, in pots) commonly don't have plenty energy vanished to re-bloom the next year. But it never hurts to try.
Also they own a very long dormancy term. When they are outside in the ground, the leaves come up, they flower, afterwards they fade - both the flower and the leaves die back. Summer, plummet, and winter - there is nil to see above ground.
that is wayyyyy too much marine! when they start flowering they do not need a ton of marine... maybe every week and a partially ..also, tulips in soil are oneof the bulb flowers that newly do not have the permanent look like for instance...daffodil, etc
