How do I stop snails climbing up my house? I have a backyard and at the moment hold no plants...
I have a backyard and at the moment hold no plants - but I still have loads of snails. I've never see so many. They climb up the walls around the courtyard and even up the walls and windows of my house. I notice one on my bathroom window the other year - it must be at least 7 metres surrounded by height! How do I stop the pesky things? They're driving me crazy!
I agree with Christine L. Beer draws snails and slugs approaching a magnet. Pour some in several saucers or small upsidedown frisbees, or anything shallow.
If you use an environmentally friendly snail and slug executioner you will be able to control their numbers, though where on earth there are succulent plants, you will find them.
Look out for snail/slug pellet that are safe for wildlife, pets etc, such as the one here: http://www.theonlinegardener.com/product...
Hope this help. Good luck! Rob

The beer or grape liquid bait in shallow pie tin should be slightly buried surrounded by ground to all undemanding entry.
You can buy snail pellets that you can spread over courtyard.
The snails hide underneath stones, bark, or other objects during hours of daylight time, if you find them, a spray of ammonia will make them do an recreation of the wicked witch of the west. You can sometimes see a slime trail on your grass or sidewalk to see where on earth they hide.
I hold spread my yard hasty in the morning next to a diluted ammonia and water spray and that seem to work. Although the key word here is DILUTED.
Three table spoons of dissolved aluminum sulphate per gallon of dampen can also be sprayed on yard.
