How do I rid my garden of Moles?. Tried mothballs, propane gas, sonic mole repelants and Jeyes fluid, any thinking?

The only agency we got rid of them is to set the spear traps. They do work. We got nearly 9 moles in 2 months. First you tamp down the run, if it comes back the subsequent day, it means it is an stirring run. Than you set the trap over the run. Sometimes they trip the trap and are missed, but most of the time there is a mole. It is kind of dismayed to kill them, but our yard be so full of runs that we were afraid our house would sink! Hardware stores carry them. Plant some Euphorbia surrounded by your garden - many species and named variety abound.

Euphorbia characias - smaller shrub - good spring flowers
Euphorbia mellifera - large robust shrub

NOTE: they are poisonous plants near nerve toxins that will affect the ability to breathe if sap is ingested. They produce a milky latex sap when cut that will mete out blistering to the skin when it comes into contact, worse so when exposed to light and sunshine. Always ware good duo of gloves and protective (old) clothing when pruning (in spring/early summer after flowering) and prune spent flower stems right back to the base. Wash sour any milky latex sooner rather than later as is will set and dance sticky and difficult to move.
I put unlit firelighters down the runs as they abhorrence the smell of the lighter fluid and they do last for quite a while.

I also set traps but they are severely difficult to catch. If you use traps wear an old two of a kind of gardening gloves when handling them or the mole will be able to smell you will have not hope of catching them. Set the trap contained by a run about 6 inches or so away from a mole hill.

Unfortunately you can lone deter them for so long as they will generally come back, even if you trap some others will move into the nouns so resign yourself to viewing it as an ongoing battle.
This sounds really wierd but someone once told me to put some moist fruit chewing gum in the mole hills. Before I get a chance to do it they moved on, did they know what I was going to do? See it works. You can buy mole traps you place down into an nearby tunnel. It catches them and you can pop them out into the country side and let them move about...
You can try an exterminator. But,if there are moles in the neighborhood, they will find your courtyard eventually.

I have been battle them for years.I have flooded them, poisoned them, tried the traps(they evaded them totally),and gas bombs.Short of making my yard look approaching the golf course in "Caddy Shack" I haven't found anything that is successful.Good luck. I have even tried chewing gum.
Answers:    While mole traps may or may not work along with bombs, smoking them out, etc the best method by far is to remove their food supply.

Moles eat grubs and insects. If you capture rid of the grubs and insects living in your lawn by applying an insecticide you will not enjoy moles any longer.

http://www.ipm.msu.edu/cat08land/grub_co... has a really good article on grub control.

Good Luck!
Not that I've tried this, but I was told burying a radio in a hermetic bag works.

Apparently moles don't like starchy metal or classical music and the noise is multi frequency.

Bizarre but true and you heard it on Yahoo :0)
get one of those musical birthday cards take out the music sector and bury it in one of the holes it drives them mad and they will awwww poor moles :0(

try putting photos of next doors lawn down their molehills and a map?
I went to Lowe's and bought "poison peanuts". They are pellets and the directions will convey you how to use them. Very simple and very effective. try mole traps - i've hear they're quite good. also do you hold any pest control people near you - try the ashen pages or yell.com and they might know someone who specialises within mole control.!
I had a mole problem for a couple years and did not want to use those grusome traps. I get a lawn roller (you can rent also) and rolled my lawn every other time I mowed. It seem that between the riding mower and the roller flattening their tunnels it was too much disruption to stick around. I have a tunnel here and within early in the summer but no genuine problem any more. Mole traps are the only means I enjoy found that works. Set one in a run or at a junction - cover the top next to a turf and an up turned bucket so the light doesn't get through.

Don't verbs if you don't catch one for awhile - the mole may simply push soil into the trap and set it off - lately clear out the hole and reset it. Ideally find a local person who uses traps and they will be happy to show you. Usually if you take into custody one that's it for awhile. Best of luck.
