i have clusters of yellow finger similar to mushrooms growing in my cornplant soil and the same article in my asperagus fern.are these bad for my plants?what can i do to alleviate this problem.both plants are getting plenty of fluffy and watering.
Mushrooms are a sign of too much water
I had this problem -- I was overwatering, and the plants be too wet. Let them get some nouns and dry out. you are keeping them too wet. let them dry out a LITTLE between waterings... your potting soil must enjoy a good bit of woody organic business in it... like mulch. they'll move about away when the soil is dry-er..
Answers: It may be down to the type of compost your plants are growing in. When I switched to using peat free compost I found an increase in the number of fungi sprouting up where on earth I did not want them. Fungi spores thrive on rotting wood and vegetable matter. Once fungi have spawned the spores can survive within the soil for years. The spores may have spread around the house and will germinate in sopping pots etc.
Don't let growing fungi spawn. Try switching to a different type of compost for your house plants. If the problem persists you may hold to re-pot the plants or throw them out and start again.
