Milky Spore! It's natural and really easy to use, BUT it takes a while in the past it works. The best part is, once it does begin working and doing what Milky Spore does, it controls the Beetles for years minus any other applications.

You could spray your young trees. I hear the garden expert on our local TV station say, "do not put up a beetle trap", they only draw the bugs surrounded by. If there are not too many, you can pick them stale and stomp the crap out of them. If the trees are really small yet, you can buy nylon netting at the fabric store really cheap, and wrap the trees surrounded by the netting until the beetles die off. Save the netting, it will final for several years. Last year was the first year I had these horrible little beetle. They love a lot of flowers, not just fruit trees. I hold several different flowers that they really love. I agree with the others - do NOT use the bags. Tell your neighbors how great they work and agree to THEM put them up and they will get most of the little buggers.
I haven't seen any nonetheless this summer, but I keep checking every day. If and when they come I will any use a powder or spray made by Ortho. Or, the sudsy water is effective too if you don't approaching the idea of using pesticides.

Answers: Don¡¯t use traps they just attract more beetles. If you prefer to use them make sure you locate them away from any of your favorite trees or plants. The netting may work, but they are already on your trees.
I have found that you in recent times tap the branch that they are on they just crash down to the ground. They don¡¯t fly well.
I use hot soapy water contained by a bucket just knock them off. The problem is I have thousands of them on our property. I had to be selective, they do lots of damage but adjectives my plants and trees are ok this year.
