I'm doing a biology lab at the moment and I need to hold on to a certain wildflower alive/fresh for a hours of darkness. How should this be done? Should it be kept in a jug? In a fridge?

Answers:    Best way is to be off it on the plant until just back you need it. Wildflowers are scandalous for not lasting more than a few second after they are cut. Okay. That's a slight exaggeration - but often, depending on the flower type, you can count contained by minutes or hours, rather than days.

Sealing them within a plastic bag and popping within the fridge might help for a while. It will depend on the species. Some will do better than others.

Sometimes a bit of voodoo helps. Poppies will concluding longer if you char the end of the stem, or stick an inch or so within boiling water. You might smash the cessation of the stem also, hey ,it's an experiment, right? A poly bag and refrigerator are appropriate too.
