Hi,
How could i get bamboo pip from my bamboo plant, if that is not viable where could i buy the seed?
Chz.
There's a guy on ebay that advertises bamboo seed sometimes. He's in Germany, but sends worldwide Got zillions from mine last year! Just keep on until the seed pods form and hold an open shoulder bag under them and shake!!
Hello Chz.
If you wish to grow more rattan, may I suggest you take one of the many rhizomes and expand your wicker collection using vegetative propagation rather than seed. I enjoy found bamboo and several other grass species to be difficult to establish from seed, but to some extent simple to establish vegetatively.
Answers: Just a word of wariness, make sure you know if it's running or clumping bambbo
Running versus Clumping Bamboo. There is a common misconception that adjectives bamboos are invasive.
Running bamboo sends out rhizomes far away from the plant. This is the invasive type

Not sure you can. If you wish to increase your stock why not split the roots and replant? This is the usual method. There is lots of info on rattan on the 'net which advises on all aspects of wicker. some bamboo when they set seed they afterwards die but you may
have to wait 20 to 50 years for this to appear.
but don't despair you can obtain seed from jungle seed.com
Bamboos belong to the grass family. They also bloom and bear seed. But for each species, they all bloom simultaneously only once and then they all die after the seed fall to the ground. So you can hardly find rattan seeds. Nobody knows when a specific species of rattan blooms. hey--if you did happen to find some seeds ,,it would nick a long time for them to sprout and grow,,best to dig sprouts and replant,,,or you can cut a few,,stalks,,lay em flat,,cover with dirt,,,trial canes will grow from the nodules,,if kept moist,,not soggy..
