Look up natural or natural weed killer online and see what products are available to buy in your nouns, or you might already have at home (or the ingredients to make). I find that preferable over poisons, especially since several don't kill the weed but can do other harm (I've never found Roundup to be useful).
I dug a trench beneath fence rank, poured (smooth top) cement so it was ground even. Never a weed or need for trimming. This also eliminate animals from my side of fence plus other side from digging to catch under wall.
Some one else dug a trench but layed bricks at ground level beneath their fence row - - may still have a few weed grow in the cracks.
Pour vegetable grease on that area. Vegetable grease is environmental friendly and not poisonous. Fall & Spring and again after respectively heavy rainfal.
