My China Doll plant is infested with black dots everywhere. I look at the branches and underneath the leaves - it has plentiful little thing that looks resembling a light brown colour rice crumb (slightly smaller). Could someone please help. I want to use life pesticide for this. I've made my own onion water but doesn't come across to do a very accurate job. It still is not recovering all right. HELP, please!
There is a product called "insectisoap" and it works great. I don't resembling to put alcohol on my plants, some of them are sensative and will burn.
You can try a mix of 1 cup dampen, 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol, and 2 or 3 drops of dish soap. It works by the soap sticking to the insects and the alcohol drying them out, and I've had great luck near it.
Depending on the alcohol and soap you use it can be organic. It's also outstandingly effective on stuff similar to aphids, scale insects, spidermites, and other little buggers. Make sure to spray it on tops and undersides of the leaves, trunk, and branches as ably as the soil surface. Reapply in a few days, as needed. Hopefully it will work powerfully for you.
Answers: First figure out if this is a fungal infection or insects. it sounds close to a fungal problem but without looking at the plant no style to tell.
If it is insects seize dormant oil made from parafin. Sunoil is one such product. Follow the directions for application. this will smother level, aphids, etc..
If it is fungal try 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract (you can find this at any health food store) contained by a quart of soft water that have a teaspoon of soap added (for a surfactant/sticker). Spray every other day until the symptoms shift away.
Onion spray is a repellent at best, it will not kill insects or fungus.
