hello!
I have a hot tortoise and she needs to put away weeds such as danelion and clover etc, but when i pick them they give the impression of being to wilt within a few hours.
Is nearby any way to keep hold of them fresh for a little longer???
gratitude

Answers: A lot of people enjoy suggested keeping the weeds contained by the fridge...but I've owned a tortoise and I know it can take them a moral while to eat, contained by which time the weeds are still feasible to wilt. Here's a great article I found on tortoise diet with the array needed to make up for fresh weed, if you have an indoor tortoise:
"In captivity they are stirring most the year and can easily over chomp through. Also if kept in an indoor pen they get hold of less exercise than contained by the wild. These 2 factor can lead to speedy growth and a shortened life span. For this object their diet should be restricted.
When kept outdoors they can be allowed to graze freely and fed each day small amounts of supplemental food. I am fortunate in that I own enough weed and flowers growing all summer that I not often need to nurture anything else. I have divided my pen within thirds and keep 1/3 growing a fresh crop of weed at all times.
Indoors, they receive far smaller amount exercise and tend to rely on grocery store green. I prefer to feed them as much as they will put away in twenty minutes....day by day. I have also feed them as much as they would eat within an hour... every other day. Both methods work.
Also if you chop up hay (timothy, orchard, Bermuda ...etc) and mix it next to the greens you can feed larger volumes. I also set out fresh hay in the pen at all times.
GREENS
Most grocery stores hold a decent inspection of greens that Russians readily eat. Ideally the greens should be natural and pesticide free. However this is the real world and not adjectives tortoise keepers hold access to "ideal" food. So, I have this sector as a starting point for a varied diet. The following greens are well found in my local stores:
Romaine lettuce
Red and green fern lettuce
Endive
Escarole
Radicchio
Turnip greens
Mustard greens
Kale
Collards
cabbage (on occasion)
Spring Mix (mixed salad greens)
With the above greens one can develop a good diet. Once again (and I can't stress this enough) assortment is the key!
Don't nurture the same food sunshine in and year out. Mix varieties and choose a different green as the cause every few days.

AVOID
The following food items should be avoided for a variety of reason. there are frequent books and groups that go into great detail...so I won't repeat them here. At the back of the page are a few links).

to parasite blooms....just not worth it) the exception is apples due to the elevated quantity of pectin....but still not frequently.
