How can i stop my ivy growing on my blockade? it comes from my very elderly neighbours side and is fully covering...

it comes from my very elderly neighbours side and is fully covering an old apple tree right subsequent to my fence,its constantly growing all over it and i want to put a calafornia lilac there--will ithe ivy wipe out my clim,ber? how can i stop the ivy encroaching? help please adjectives you loverly gardeners!

Answers:    Ivy is a major pain once it take hold. It has no regard for other plant life and will choke it all out. The way I annihilate it is to find the main root that starts the plant. I cut it and stick the root coming out of the ground in a small jar of kerosene. The vine will suck the kerosine through the in one piece root system without harming the soil and assassinate all the underground roots you otherwise couldn,t possibly have gotten. The root cog above the ground will die on its own without any nourishment from the vine that have been cut. Its the one that is still within the ground that needs to be destoyed.
