Usually, I sweep sand into the cracks every so often, but this doesn't prevent weeds and moss from reappear. I can kill the offending stuff but scraping out the limp stuff is a time consumiing nightmare. What I'm looking for is something that will keep weed and moss growth to a minimum - if there is such a item.
Kill the weed with bleach, The bleach will neutralize the dirt and keep plants from growing. pour vinegar down the cracks.
Cement the joins! That will stop the weeds from have somewhere to plant their roots!
Strong Weed killer, but that is solely a temporary measure which leaves you still near the job of removing the dead!
Other to that, I haven't a clue, Sorry!
Answers: Here's some info on organic controls.

Those blighters seem to embezzle root/make homes everywhere there's a speck of dust.
Our grandparents never had problems because they used to throw the bathwater outside. We can learn from them. I use a spray of mild dish detergent solution (about 1 tablespoon per quart/liter of water). Also you can try using vinegar. My naighbour swears by table brackish.
I got so frustrated that I ended up removing the blocks and lay sod. Now, that's another problem.
you should be able to spray it near a weed killer that actually make the weed go back into the ground. you could try to sweep a weed bloodbath ferterlizer into the cracks as well. Use Weedol 'Pathclear' it stops weeds and mosses growing for up to 6 months so you merely need to apply once or twice a year. I use it all the time and I can voice in all honesty that it really works.
Try mixing limestone near sand. The problem could also be deeper--literally. Assuming you cannot dig under the cracks, try a devout weed killer. You can also try shooting a foam based product or silicone--expensive, but may be persistent. Get some casaron granules into the interstices, mixed with the sand. You may own to repeat the treatment twice a year, and it works best after it is watered or rained on.
you hold weed growing in your yard?? I am calling the cops on you. You are so going to lock up. (...runs and grabs phone..) spray would help it stir away =]
hope this helps
