I have random sprigs of blackberry bush growing contained by various parts of my yard. I want the blackberries gone because they're thorny and receive in the way. Should I spray the sprigs as they grow next to weed killer? I try to cut them back but they newly keep growing.
yah spray them

why would you want to kill blackberries? Eat them! They're so yummy and if you grow them yourself you'll know for sure what brand of stuff they were sprayed with or not sprayed beside.
But if you must get rid of them, cut them down then pour a mixture of 1qt distilled vinegar, 4 drops dish soap, & 1/4 cup of saline. that should help. But you won't be able to plant in attendance for awhile because of the salt. So if you want to plant just pour straight vinegar on them. Roundup
Answers:    If the blackberry sprigs are just all over the place...spraying them with weed killer will simply slow down the growth and stunt them. You will not get rid of them that way. The best point is cut them down as far as possible to the ground. Call it a day and have a cup of tea. The subsequent day...go out to them next to a fork and spade and dig out the roots and they will not grow again.
