I have a small strawberry patch, near berries just starting to ripen. I picked the first two yesterday, and would hold had four if the bugs hadn't chowed down on the fruits.
How can I preserve the bugs away so I get adjectives (or at least most) of my berries and not only half? I'd fairly not use a chemical pesticide, if I can avoid it, but will if it's the only road.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Answers: you need some spiders to chomp through those bugs. look under stairwells and shady areas for some nice spiders. Actually thieve them to the strawberry patch. At least 4 or 5. Wait to see contained by about a week. Good luck.
I would use seven spray for most insects. But I don't contemplate seven will kill the slugs and that's probably what the problem is.
Some associates put out a lid full of beer and that kills them. The raining and moist plants give them a home. I consider a wet mulch make it worse. I wonder if a black plastic will keep the berries dry and the slugs will walk away.
