I did this over 10 years ago...on accident and want to know how to do it again. I own a small bunch of roses that the tips are still in hose down. They've been that agency for about 3 months. Tips are still green but no rooting although they weren't surrounded by direct sunlight. I just put it on the glass sil and it's been at hand for about 4 days. Any accepted wisdom about how long it might filch to root? Any suggestions on other things I should do to promote root growth?
Answers: I think you would enjoy better luck if you recut the end within water and dip contained by rooting hormone and sticking in perfect seed starting medium
There are rooting hormone powders and liquids available at most gardening shops including the garden bit at Walmart.
You make a verbs cut with a sterile cut, do not use scissors this "squishes" and damages the stem a clean cut does not.
Dip the fresh extension into the rooting mixture and put back into fresh river.
If that does not stimulate it to grow roots, go capture yourself a six dollar rose bush when they are on sale surrounded by the spring.
