How and when would I prune a plant that flowers on current seasons growth contained by summer or autumn to maximise the number of flowers??
Answers: wait until it is dormant. when near is no more growth, or if you missed the time, very impulsive spring before the leaves start off to bud. thats what i did with my forsythia bush and it did wonderfully.
Do not trim untill the piece looms and the blooms are dry..If you cut it now you won't hold bloom...
