Honey bees made a hive in my prehistoric BBQ and there is alot of honey. I want to take rid of them and possibly sell the honey. Today, 2/17/08 they swarmed and are immediately also in the Ficus tree which grows right beside where on earth this old BBQ is. Who can direct me to someone that can run care of this and for little or no cost? I'm contained by Anaheim, CA 92804
Ouch! I had like situation last spring. Bees contracted to take up residence contained by my Gas Grill. I moved it away from my home and from trees, and turned on the burners full blast and closed the lid. I allowed the grill to burn for about 30 minutes, consequently turned it off. Once it cooled, I removed the mud resembling structure with a sledge hammer and chisel. Please be aware a Fire Extinguisher and hose were immediate, along with a phone within case of an emergency.

Call your local bee keepers federation or organization
They will come and procure them from you for free
It seems a shame to rubbish good honey bees since their population is dying out
4-H type clubs can minister to you too
Answers:    call your county extension agent, who will probably know who the local beekeepers are within the area. Beekeepers know how to "move" a swarm. flawless luck, and thanks for not butchery them; we need every honeybee we can catch, for without thoneybees and other "good' pollenators, we would hold no food crops.
