alright i started my seed surrounded by a damp thesis towel, when the root got to almost 1cm i placed it in miracle grow potting soil in the order of 1/2" down. I gave it just about 1 tablespoon of watter and it is now sitting within the dark until it sprouts. I will use a fluorescent kerosene lamp and 60 watt bulb when it sprouts, and watter it only beside boiled watter that has have time to cool to room temperature. How does this plan nouns to you?

Seeds are funny, you can plane ahead for them, but until you do it....
Let the seedling grow, no wait I tolerate my seedlings grow until I see at lowest three nods on it. Meaning until I see at lowest three sets of leaves on it.
Do not feed seedling right off the bat. They die within my experience.
Over heat heat is good, but lower heat is better.
Seedlings do not need sterilized hose. However bugs love the nice new sprouts.
Anyhoo of late remember some seeds are harder to sprout after others. Some will take contained by water, some peat moss, others within normal every year soil, just matter what kind of core.
My Mr. when using seeds say the more you have the more are going to hold....
We both are experienced gardeners....and have experienced destruction of seeds :0(

My Mr. purely added seedling depth is a big deal, to weighty and it may not show its head! Some seed you just sprinkle higher than the soil.
What kind of kernel we talking here?
that sounds great... what type of nut is it tho? plants need different things (temperature, dirt, etc)
