You have need of a lot of space. Plant the 4 watermelon plants together within a hill and agree to them trail down. When the size of a football put straw underneath them to prevent them from rotting. Also here is a nice trick : When the watermelons are small, place them into holes in cinder blocks. That mode, when they are large plenty to harvest, you break the cinder block, and enjoy a watermelon that is "square" and have 4 flat sides so that if placed on a table, it won't roll away.
