I recently planted 120 onion sets surrounded by my allotment. This is the first time for me and IM wondering if I have done it correctly. When I planted them, the tips are below the soil surface by I don`t know 1/2 to 1 inch. Will they still come up? I have seeon other instructions which read aloud the tips should be just above the surface.

It is not too rash to plants sets so long as the ground was not frozen when you put them surrounded by they will not be affected by the frosts very soon.
They will be fine! If you are in the uk though, they shouldnt be planted till may! Onion from kernel should be planted now for transplanting out within april.
