regard as I can help you next to this one. It will cost some monies, however, we can reduce and spread the cost over a length of time! I was within charge of Grounds Operations at a Center City University in Philadelphia. Talk more or less growing grass on a brick!!!
Find a local store that will rent you a Core Aeration
Answers:    Depends on where you live. If you live surrounded by the north, you are too late.

As for the crabgrass and applying preemergent weed executioner, if you must wait until spring to kernel, then you whould verbs about getting the grass to grow first. Aerate, top next to composted top soil, don't cut the grass to short. These steps will reduce the amount of crab grass.
Hi:
It will be fine to use an aerator contained by the fall. You can rent areators at most rental places. Your objective is to completely areate the entire lawn. Once you own areated, you can overseed and apply a slow six month nitrogen release fertilizer. This will help your pasture. You can do this again in the spring. If you put weed slaughterer down in the spring, hang around one week before you fertilize again. This will ensure the chemical have taken effect.

I hope this has help some. I will direct you to my site map of my website as well as a go down page which talks just about preparing your lawn within the fall. Good luck to you and if you stipulation any other help, please grain free to contact me. Have a great day!
