Is it advisable to use the water i syphon out of my freshwater aquarium for my garden. i do use just about 1 tablespoon of conditioning salt per 4 gallons surrounded by a 55 gallon tank. i know saline is not good for soil, will this amount enjoy an adverse affect?
Answers:    I have a couple 55's and own been using the hose down on my house plants for 40yrs., Great stuff. If I had a couple 5,500 gallon fish tank I'd probably use it in the gardens as resourcefully. RScott
I have read within a few places that the Aquarium water is in fact good for the soil and your plants. I don't suppose that amount of salt would really hold any adverse effects, and might actually be of some use. But if it is a freshwater container why are you using salts?
