Flowering pear tree? this is the 2nd winter for my flowering Pear, last spring it...
this is the 2nd winter for my flowering Pear, last spring it produced just 3 blossoms,
now the leaves are red & falling past its sell-by date (normal)
but i also see buds everywhere & one of the flowers is no hard close to a dried up raisin, wondering if that was a mini pear
will it flower more subsequent spring
just wondering, so few things willl grow within zone 8, sandy, clay soil.
Answers: Flowering pears get more flowers as they become fully grown. In fact the adjectives tree gets better beside age. You probably did have a 'pear' they are single the size of your little finger nail. This one sounds close to if didn't drop off and have dried on the tree. Heavily mulch your tree with life matter (manures, grass clippings etc this will amend the soil over the years and make the soil much easier to work. Also use gypsum to break down the clay. The reality you have lots of buds sounds close to you will have lots of flowers this year. I grow mine for the autumn colour. Good luck.
should flower better as it get older.
hope it flowers capably next spring
