Answers: Believe it or not you can only lay the stones on top of the grass and they will sink within over time. The best way is to excavate the street a couple of inches deeper than the thickness of the stones and lay crushed or decomposed granite, compact it and set the stones on top, height with the largeness you desire. Fill in the areas surrounded by between with sand and the grass will compress in contained by no time.
