Personally, I other liked a big small mason's trowel for flowerbed weed, but an old kitchen spear, a big screwdriver, a hoe with a broken button and a big spoon all work, too. Safe for your plants, for the environment, and a short time exercise, too. Amazing what a couple minutes a day can do when applied to weed a flower bed. The real private is to get them while they're mere seedling, not 3 ft monsters.
