When drying a sunflower, do you hang it upside down to dry, or do you remove the seeds from the plant and dry it that channel?
allow the flower to wilt and the seed to develope on the the stalk.
cut the head off once the petals enjoy mostly fallen off the the seed are hard and tan/brown.
You can just walk off it out for a week, or bring it in so the birds don't get the seed.
Tie a piece of cheesecloth or fine nylon or plastic mesh around the ripening sunflower seedhead when the rear legs portion of the head begins to turn brown.
Once the manager shrivels and the seeds are dry, you can just rub them into the covering.
