it is VERY tiny... also is it a cactus? or succulent?
It is a lythop or living stone. It needs a dry spell with no hose through the winter, then once watered within the spring it will bloom. There are many different sorts. I usually grow them within a pot topped off beside pebbles, they need apt drainage. It is a succulent.
I copy what I found:
" Aizoaceae Mesembryanthemum Family
_________________________________
A large people of well over 100 genus. The plants are all succulent and most hold daisy-like flowers"
The name of the specific plant you asked something like is, and I copy: " Lithops(lith-ops) From the Greek:lithos- a stone, and ops- like; the plants look close to small pebbles and as such are well veiled against attack from browsing animals."
The book shows three examples named respectively:
Lithops marmorata
Lithops olivacea
Lithops pseudotruncatella
Your plant looks almost close to the first one.
Answers: It's a stone plant and it is a succulent.
