I am planning a small (100 Sq. Ft) edible perennial garden, and would similar to a list of easy-to-grow perennial herb, vegetables and fruits.
Have you created one? How has it worked/not worked?
Right presently, I have raspberries, chives, scallions and strawberries and they appear to do fine with little to no attention besides weed, of course. What else could I supply to the garden?
Answers: I gardened in Minneapolis for 16 years. Most herb really aren't perennial there, though depending on the winter and the cover and your microclimate, you may be capable of keep sage, winter savory and thyme for several years. Mint, chives (both garlic and onion), tarragon, oregano and lovage are reliably perennial. It is also honourably simple to establish parsley (a biennial) as if it were perennial. Dill and cilantro will self sow and come final every year if encouraged. Rosemary can be planted contained by a pot and brought inside for the winter.
To the best of my knowledge within are really no perennial vegetables, unless you count horseradish, and maybe Jerusalem artichoke, but I would take care of those as they will take over your patio. You can plant onion seed surrounded by late summer and hold scallions in February or March. That's style of fun.
Most vegetables will do OK for you as long as they have devout sun but you will need to plant them respectively year.
