Does a Christmas Tree Smell Bad When Dead?? Okay, we got our tree on the 7th of December. And watered...
Okay, we got our tree on the 7th of December. And watered it 2 times since after...... Now its the 23rd, and its smells like poop. We thought it be the dog, but we say no poop or pie. Also adjectives the branchs on the tree are hanging down. So is it supposed to smell discouraging???
We spray all of our smaller pines, spruces and firs next to a mixture of rotten eggs and synthetic fox urine, and then sticker them to publicize what we've done, to discourage theft overriding up to the holidays. Out in the cold the smell isn't visible at all, but pinch a sprayed tree inside where its heat, and you'll wish you have never even heard of Christmas.
I wonder if something similar occur to your tree before it be cut, either readily (an animal repeatedly urinating on the tree), or artificially to prevent theft. If it happen some time ago it may have a short time ago taken awhile for the smell to come out. There's no reason for a tree that be green three weeks ago to be in that condition presently. Trees take profoundly longer than that to rot, and a dead, dry tree will feasible not have much of a smell at adjectives.
yes...
it might because that it is not place in the corrct position it shud be..
or..
perchance the person whom sold to u..cheated u..
Answers: You certainly haven't watered it satisfactory. When you bought it (or first brought it home) you should have given it a fresh cut (cutting past its sell-by date an inch or so of the bottom of the trunk). This allows it to absorb dampen -- and most trees from tree lots absorb a GALLON of wet during the first 24 hours.
After that, it will drink a gallon every 2 or 3 days. Failing to give it a fresh cut, or letting it step dry in the holder, let the natural pine sap stamp the trunk (preserving as much moisture as the tree has)... but the heat and temperature in your home are more than that trademark can protect against.
The nasty smell may be from the stagnant river in the holder. Use a turkey baster to suck the yucky dampen out, and replace it with verbs water (although it's conspicuously too late to revive the tree). A hit of bleach surrounded by that water will kill in cold blood the bacteria and smell. Careful not to obtain bleach on the carpet, tree skirt or gifts!
The tree won't perk subsidise up, you let it catch too dry for too long.
No. It should smell resembling pine.
Listen, you have to put it surrounded by water and one plain asprin.
Floralife from the flower store or grocery if they fetch flowers will keep it alive longer.
Next year consider a virtual tree. They look real and you aren't massacre a tree.
My trees never smelled doomed to failure, even when older. Sounds close to something is rotting.
Did you put anything in the hose to preserve the tree? That's usually recommended. Yours sounds like it's already dying, and is rotting.
you waterd your tree twice you were supposed to hose everyday of course it is going to die on you i don't know if it would smell close to poop but i can imagine what it would smell approaching.
