the tree in my pay for yard started blooming this week, but i enjoy no clue what type of tree it is. it is about 12ft elevated and the trunk is close to 18in around.

This is a big infirm Rhododendron. In the south, they do become tree-height. So pretty, aren't they? This is the time of year they bloom too.
