If you have or know anyone getting their roof replaced,I found that roof shingles work with weed. You may have to place a rock or two on top of them .Other sagacious you could use large rocks.
Now that I think something like it I'm not sure if placing something on top of them will kill them.I believe they grow from a bulb, you may have to dig them up.
Well, if you saturate weed in white vinegar on a hot sunny day, it will execute the weeds all the instrument down to the roots.
You can also use a mixture of hot water and borax.
The hot water will mischief the weeds and the borax will stick to the leaves and the sun will burn the leaves and they'll die.
There are alot of cheap and effective ways to slay weeds quickly.
I've be using those method for years.
I rescue animals and needed something that would be safe to use around them as well as out of danger for humans.

Trouble next to newspaper is it will blow everywhere.
Try yelp that is there for some time and freshly needs topping up each year, but is environmentally friendly, and looks better than plastic. if you are going to mulch over it anyway, try using trashbags, weed won't grown through and they are alot cheaper than the landscaping felt
Answers: Newspaper makes an OK mulch. Use thick layer and weigh it down with stones or bricks. It allows water to permeate and eventually biodegrades. it looks terrible however.
Does your township have a composting facility for leaves? Our provides free palm leaf mulch all summer. Partially rotted leaves are the best cheap mulch and they really enrich the soil.
