OK I moved into a new house a few months ago, the lawn wasn't contained by that great of shape but I've been working on it and now it looks really great...aside from a few brown patch.
What's the best way to remedy this? I used a garden toll to slightly loosen up the soil in these spots and I've be spot watering them. One of the brown patches is showing alot of improvement, but the others are almost the same.
Answers: Treatment depends on the cause of the unevenness.
Drought: Your lawn is going into self-preservation mode. It's hibernating.
Grubs: They're munching on the roots and when they're done they'll slither underground and start drinking another patch of fresh roots. Get them drunk and drown them by putting out pie plates of beer in the evening.
Peepee patches: Make sure local canines do not use your meadow as a urinal. Dilute the urine by watering. Seeding before the problem is eradicated is a waste of fitting grass seed not to mention your efforts.
Good Growing!
Grass paint and a great deal of nitro green. toss grass seed over them make sure you dont own a gas leak under ground.
