My yellow pear tomato plant has clusters of tiny bumps adjectives over the stems, could this be a virus? The tomatoes don't seem to be affected, but I don't know if they're appetizing.
Answers: If the tomatoes are unaffected, chances are these are rooting nodes. If you be to remove these stems where the bumps are, you could root them from these nodes. It is probably the variety you are using of late has more of these nodes than you are used to. If they burst, or the plant is doing poorly, then it would be something else. But as best as I can bring from what you posted, this seems like usual tomato nodes. I wouldn't eat the stems, nodes or no nodes, but the fruit should be fine. Hope this helps you! Good luck!
More than Likely it is roots trying to grow. Most virus affect the leaf or the fruit. This is very adjectives in tomato plants. They will try to produce new roots
