Anyone any good thinking of getting rid /killing THE COMMON CREEPING IVY from around the base of a tree EASILY and CHEAPLY!
Answers: The problem next to using herbicide on ivy is that the leaves have a gelatinous cuticle. If you use a herbicide add a short time washing up solution to the mix as this will break the surface tension of the hose. Also crush a few of the leaves before applying it as this will assist digestion.
It will require more than one application to kill the ivy sour completely.
The cheapest way is to verbs it out. The easiest is to spray it with herbicide at regular intervals until it's comatose then clear the wreckage.
