My last years roses died, they usually come up every year, but I ruminate they just run out of life. Anyway,my landlady bought a really nice one, & it,s doing really economically. My Question, I heard you can put coffee{left over] or coffee grounds contained by with the rose bush, immediately can this be done everyday, or is that too much. Thankyou.
Answers:    I can tell you from my experience. Some of your answers say aloud that it is a myth. My Camelot roses were blooming average. I started putting coffee grounds around the substructure once every 2 weeks. They bloom so much I was amazed!! Then I quit, and the blooms diminished. I eventually give them all to my neighbors as we redo that area. The roses be too close to the house. But, yes it works. My friends puts banana peels around hers for the potasium.
There are no nutrients contained by coffee grounds,or in used tea lots for that matter. However, any will help maintain the soil moist and serve as a mulch.
Concerning the rose planted by your landlady, first year bushes always flower best, afterwards gradually deteriorate. The average natural life of a Hybrid Tea,Grandiflora or Floribunda rose is 10-15 years, which can be extended with proper feed and pruning.
