Last year I bought a nice Clivia miniata. it has around 24 leaves and have flowered nicely this year... But my sound out is:
How do offsets appear on these plants?... Do they appear as a small plant growing from the roots or the underneath of the mother plant?... Or they rise from between the leaves like a flower spike?... I ponder my plant is producing some sort of green leaves between two other "Off-center" leaves... Any suggestions?...
Answers: Leave these offsets on the parent plant. They will grow into a severely large plant. Clovis's can`t stand having their roots disturbed, if you break these offset off neither they or the parent plant will flower for a little years. If you look down your local garden centre a life-size clivia with 5-6 flower spikes costs around lb60 at the moment.
I'm pretty sure they multiply around the stub of the mother plant.
