Chrysalis emergency!! Help!? I was out contained by my garden, yet again, when I spot...

I was out contained by my garden, yet again, when I spot something squirming on the ground below. Much to my surprise, it was a a moment ago formed chrysalis (not more than minutes old). I guess it fell off somewhere it was anchored to. I've taken it inside beside me because I'm sure it will be devoured if left out nearby on the floor. So, my question is, do I give up it lying flat on a leaf? Or is it still competent to anchor on to an object? I've tried slanting it against a small twig, but all it does is only just squiggle and fall on its stern. Helpppp pleaseeeee!
Answers:    Caterpillars attach themselves to branches, then transform into a crysallis. You can't reattach it.

Put it contained by a glass or plastic jar. When it hatch you'll know what moth it is.
just agree to it lay where it will ...a palm leaf bed will be fine
