concrete path/ back patio in call for of refurb in my girlfriends flat. the concrete is nearly 6" below exterior door sill. we dont have the time or money to break up the concrete. she requirements to deck half and gravel the next of kin. i think the deck will work, but have reservations roughly speaking putting gravel onto concrete. originally were thinking paving slabs, but concerned something like the height into the sodden course. any suggestions?
Answers: You can do this but there are a couple of things to remember. You must enjoy kerb edgings deep ample to contain the extra thickness of the gravel, in need this the gravel will run off the boardwalk and disappear.
If the thickness is insufficient later the gravel can be very terrifying, they can move and become very unstable and slippery, a bit close to a load of bubble bearings, the gravel could roll on the concrete, when laid on soft ground this does not crop up.
If you are laying the gravel resting on the concretee then gravel away, you'll not do anything to the dripping course as the water will soak through to the present concret smooth and drain away as it does now. What you will lapse up with is a completely hard and vindictive surface underfoot
