Answers:    NO. Your sod's roots will be restricted from growing into the soil. Mushroom growth is due to organic stuff buried in the soil. Wooden construction jetsam, old tree roots, etc, Remove this natural material and the fungus that produces mushrooms have nothing to nurture upon. Water properly (deeply & infrequently) so ground is not always raining or moist and you should control mushroom growth.
