It'll do well if you follow this counsel:
" If your Lucky Bamboo has be growing in hose down for a long time, it may not survive the transition to soil UNLESS you keep it moderately moist until the roots have adapted. Use a fast-draining soil mixture, and use lots of stones or crockery pieces surrounded by the bottom of a pot with ample drainage holes. If the soil does not drain okay, the roots will rot. Lucky Bamboo likes to be crowded, so use a container that¡¯s no more than more or less 2¡± larger than the stalk group."

yes, i believe it can. but it requirements to have lots of hose. It would be better to stick it in a pot beside lots of rocks and add dampen. Bamboo grows in the dampen, so it needs lots of hose down!
