Answers:    Melbourne? So you are just heading into Spring, right? I don't know what your temperature are like right immediately, but if you give your roses extra TLC, they should come out simply fine.
As with any woody perennial it is other best to wait until hibernation to transplant, but I transplant my roses throughout the growing season and I haven't lost one nonetheless.
Here are instructions to help you transplant successfully.
Transplanting a rose
1) dawdle until evening when temps are cooler.
2) cut the rose back to in the region of 2 or 3 feet.
3) prepare the bright home by digging a hole 2ftx2ft and water the hole. Fill the hole beside water and consent to it drain at least twice.
4) collect the top 2/3 of soil that you just dug up and set aside. Discard the bottom 1/3.
5) amend the soil you save with peat, bone banquet, and garden compost.
6) in the bottom of the hole include a layer of droppings 2-3 inches thick and afterwards layers some of the amended soil higher than the manure. Do NOT set the roots directly on the fertilizer.
7) use a shovel to cut around the rose bush about 18inches from the trunk adjectives the way around.
8) Moving around the rose bush again, reinsert the shovel and verbs down on the handle. Doing this adjectives the way around will loosen the soil and originate to separate any long roots. Keep doing this until the rose can be easily removed (Don't verbs too much if you break a root because roses are tougher than they look)
9) Remove the rose. At this point it is best to keep as much of the origional soil around the roots as possible since it is spring. If you move it within the fall you can shake the soil away and trim any undermined or dying roots.
10) set the rose in hole making sure the soil on the root globe is a little above the even of the new hole. You want the rose to be on a small mound.
11) crowd in the hole partially way next to the ammended soil and water. Once the hose down has run through next finish filling surrounded by the hole with the soil and hose throughly.

Now that you have transplanted your rose later make sure you bestow it water everyday for the subsequent 2 weeks. Be sure you water it at the plinth and early within the morning because roses don't like to bring wet. After the two weeks afterwards you can cut back the watering to once a week.

Good Luck
i verbs my roses any time of the year,i don't prepare the bed with any products and they're still as handsome as the first day i get them.
