IM starting a compost heap. IM going to include kitchen throw away and want to add grass clippings. I usually treat my pasture a couple of times with fertilser combined beside weedkiller to green up the grass & remove dandylions/thistles etc. Will it be ok to use clippings a few weeks after the weedkiller has be applier? Im worried and residue may taint the compost.
Answers:    No,you must not put grass cuttings within compost which have be treated with weed contract killer. It is recommended that such clippings be stored seperately for at least 6 cuttings and for the minimum of 6 months...................
I intuitively would not do that. If you were to use this compost on vegetable plants you will digest this stuff possibly.
Also remeber to survey the ratio of clippings to other items in the compost. Too much grass is not flawless.
